No problems here with sharing space with both children and dogs but I do have one with the use of the term 'Karen'. It's a nasty and lazy slur with misogynistic and ageist undertones that needs to be eradicated from common parlance.

Once again, why can’t we just accept that love is a good thing wherever we find it? In friends, in animals, in romantic relationships and in family, with whoever or whatever we share our feeling with? Why this need to judge other people?

I couldn’t really comment in your recent poll. I must have found your blog through sewing a few years ago , but it is more in wishful thinking

that I sew! Also an Edinburgh connection. But much much more

of my life involves gardening and a

dog so I am interested in your recent garden projects .

Interesting post Amy. As someone with children and grandchildren whom I love dearly I still enjoy being able to go to pub/ restaurant without enduring noisy children. And we have a choice, if a particular venue doesn’t welcome either small people or pets we can walk by and find somewhere else instead of feeling entitled. I also have a dog and appreciate not everyone else enjoys their company. More love and understanding that we are all different and less judgement all round would go a long way towards a more harmonious world!
