I loved reading this - what a beautiful project bag and, as you said, such a lovely way to honor the maker of this tapestry.

You've reminded me I should have another clear out soon. What happens to all my craft clutter after I'm gone has frequently played on my mind - I never thought about adding a clause to my will but that's an excellent idea! What a wonderful way to repurpose the needlework. I'm sure the original maker would be pleased to know her work was appreciated and in use for years to come. And, thanks for the mention. I'm glad you've done such nice things with those zips!

I've still got a couple left, they're really nice chunky quality!

It's a very nice bag and a great idea to reuse the tapestry. The tapestries in the thrift store suddenly warrant a second look! Putting your craft stuff in your will is a great idea; no one in my family will appreciate my machines, etc. Thanks!

This is really cute! The technique of sewing a safety line before cutting is also used in knitting and it’s called steeking. Great idea for the clause in the will!

For me, my crafting is more about the process as an experience than the end result - I love to give completed projects away so that I can start new ones. I’m guessing the deceased sewist’s family felt unable to help in any practical way other than to pass on the project to charity and look how well that turned out in your hands!

It felt slightly silly to say out loud but the solicitor was very supportive!
