It is most satisfying when crafty skills are used for decluttering and upcycling. Thank you for sharing your project. Very inspiring.

As spring is beginning in my part of the world, your decluttering and reusing is very inspiring!

And thank you for putting words around why I hate ironing so much.. I'm now imagining how pleasant it could be to use a quilted mat instead of a beastly board.

Happy spring to you! 🌼🌻🌸🌷

Yeah, it took me a long time to realise it was the faff of the ironing board I hated. It's funny now I've made that connection, observing my mother-in-law struggling with the same thing, she hates ironing but refuses to accept it's the faff of the board and it would be easier with an ironing mat on the kitchen counter!

Wool pads. Stupid stupid spellcheck, How about leaving what I type alone and letting me make the corrections? Just a thought!

Oh, this is amazing.

I threw away our old ironing board in a fit of pique some years ago and never felt the urge to replace it. Any ironing I need to do (note: I never need to), takes place on folded towels on the kitchen table. But now I really, really want to make a quilted ironing mat.

Thank you so much for sharing my blog again, I really appreciate it 🙏🏻 Definitely make yourself one in the future, you could 'cheat' to save time by using an old quilted blanket from a charity shop, so long as you were content it was cotton (so it doesn't burn onto the iron!)
