Hi there. What is your raised bed made out of? I made raised beds 12 years ago from untreated fir and they are predictably falling apart. I’m looking for something that will hold up longer this time around. I was in a hurry the first time around.
Another gardening question: where are you geographically?
I used heat treated decking boards for the bigger raised bed, and heat treated 10x10 posts for the smaller ones. I treated the decking boards with linseed oil and sealed the gaps with silicone sealant. I haven't done any treating if the posts. From what I read online, wooden raised beds generally last around 10-15yrs, regardless of what they're treated with, so I prioritised avoiding plastic and harsh chemical-based products. I've made my peace with replacing/repairing as needed!
